Founded in 2017
Go Grow Love was founded in memory of Brenda J. Brown, a remarkable woman who ran a video and thrift store in Munford, Alabama. Better known as BJ, her generosity knew no bounds—she was always ready to help whenever the opportunity arose.
From supporting church fundraisers to assisting neighbors who had lost everything in house fires, BJ’s kindness was unmatched. If she saw someone in need, she would give her very last dollar to help. The world was truly brighter with her in it.
BJ lived by example, teaching us what it means to be good people.
She passed away in 2013 due to complications from diabetes, but her spirit lives on.
Inspired by her love and compassion, we began organizing small community projects—donating books to libraries, prom dresses to underprivileged teens, and puzzles to local nursing homes.
By 2017, we decided to expand our efforts and officially established Go Grow Love as a nonprofit organization.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to carry forward BJ’s loving and giving spirit. Remembering her words, we planted fruit trees in her honor to donate their harvest to low-income families. It became the perfect way to celebrate her life and honor others as well.
Now, we are embarking on our most ambitious project yet—the Go Grow Love Food Forest. This initiative will create edible landscapes that nourish communities and stand as a lasting testament to Brenda’s vision.
